I would make them into an offensive spear unit with sword infantry attack intervals and medium armour (50 armour). Shieldmaiden - they are a thing in lore (see the Valkia the Bloody novel). Personally, I hope it's a medium armoured (50-60), fastish monster (50~ speed) with bound spells from the runic upgrade.
